Storage in Transit

Storage in transit is a unique service offered by Hillside Van Lines, Inc. on residential interstate shipments. SIT is the temporary storage of your household goods in the warehouse of the carrier's agent, pending further transportation at a later date.

SIT service may not exceed a total of 180 calendar days. After 180 days, the interstate nature of the shipment ends and is converted to the rules of the local warehouseman.

Storage in transit is a very valuable service for those customers who encounter a discrepancy in the arrival of their goods to their new home vs. their actual move in date. This could result from construction related issues, imperfect closing dates, etc…
